"Brock Purdy's Status in Question Against Bengals Due to Concussion"

The San Francisco 49ers have listed quarterback Brock Purdy as questionable for Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Purdy entered concussion protocol after playing the full game against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday.

According to The Athletic's David Lombardi, the 23-year-old participated fully in Friday's practice, but head coach Kyle said he still needs to clear one more step before being cleared to play. Shanahan said Friday.

Shanahan added that Purdy "absolutely" will start against the Bengals if he passes Saturday's protocol test.

Purdy reportedly began feeling concussion symptoms while flying home from Minnesota last Sunday. It is not clear when he became ill.

The Iowa State product completed 21 passes for 272 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions against the Vikings. The 49ers lost their second straight game, falling to 5 wins and 2 losses.

San Francisco also listed offensive tackle Trent Williams (ankle) as questionable and ruled wide receiver Deebo Samuel (shoulder) out for the game against the Bengals.
